1 Pull your hair back into a ponytail and secure it with the rubber band. Place the ponytail wherever you want the bun to sit on your head. Depending on the length of your hair, it can be placed as high or as low as you'd like.
2 Twist the ponytail in one direction. Twist it until it tightens enough to start coiling around the rubber band that is holding the ponytail together.
3 Secure the bun with bobby pins wherever needed as you begin twisting it around the ponytail. Once the end of the tail reaches the bun, tuck the end into the bun and secure it with another pin.
4 Inspect the bun in a mirror and add bobby pins in any other places they may be needed. Make sure the bun feels secure and will not fall out if you shake or move your head..
